I don't know any other country in the world where photographing people is as much fun. The people are so natural and open that I am drawn to their way of dealing with hardships of daily life in a nation where basic comforts and amenities of the modern world are often unavailable. Of course there's color, music and a intense Caribbean vibe in Cuba, but I'm especially struck by how remarkable, joyous and present Cubans can be. I had expected to find the people of Cuba depressed and down, but found the complete opposite. They carry themselves with an attractive dignity and always makes the most out of what they have to enjoy life.
This ongoing documentary project focuses on the everyday Cuban encounters, as I explore the exuberance that's unique to the island.
