Christina McField

Christina McField is a passionate community advocate committed to empowering artists through visual arts, culture, and creative education. As the Founder of The WoodGrain Studio, LLC, she strives to create spaces where art and culture thrive, fostering both individual and collective growth within the creative community. Christina obtained her Master's in Art Administration and Policy from the School of Art Institute of Chicago and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Mississippi State University. She is a recent recipient of the Mississippi Art Commission Artist Fellowship Award, and in 2021, she was honored as a featured artist in the Mississippi Invitational and served as the 2021-2022 Community Impact Artist-in-Residence at Sipp Culture. McField’s artistic practice explores themes of memory, time, and history, utilizing photography and sculpture to pay tribute to the forgotten and often overlooked ways of life found on the rural backroads of the South. Through her work, she creates a visual eulogy for these lost histories, weaving a narrative that connects the past to the present while evoking a deep reverence for nature, spirit, and the intimate memories of her childhood.
