Christina McField
Christina McField is a passionate community advocate and visionary artist who champions the power of visual arts, culture, and creative education to uplift and inspire. As the Founder of The WoodGrain Studio, LLC, she cultivates spaces where art and culture thrive, driving both personal and collective growth within the creative community.
Christina earned her Master’s in Art Administration and Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Mississippi State University. She was recently awarded the prestigious 2024/25 Mississippi Arts Commission Artist Fellowship and has been recognized as a featured artist in the Mississippi Invitational in 2021 and again in the upcoming 2025 Invitational. She also served as the 2021-2022 Community Impact Artist-in-Residence at Sipp Culture, where she contributed to transformative community-focused projects.
Her artistic practice delves into themes of memory, time, and history, blending photography and sculpture to honor the often-overlooked ways of life along the rural backroads of the South. Through her series Where Time Stands Still, Christina crafts visual eulogies for these lost histories, weaving narratives that connect the past to the present while evoking a profound reverence for nature, spirit, and the intimate memories of her childhood.
