"I Got It" by Dear Silas Ft. Big K.R.I.T.

Dear Silas has dropped his first video of the year, and it is featured with none other Mississippian Big K.R.I.T. If you have not listened to the song, you are really missing out. Coming into the new year, this can potentially be your 2020 motivational song. I had the chance to witness one of the sets for the video, it was nothing but black excellence. Dear Silas shows us, that if you really set out to do something, you can DO IT. He told me that he was just testing the waters, and dm’d (direct messaged) Big K.R.I.T. to see if he wanted to be on his song. K.R.I.T. responded back, and sent the track right back. Now we are looking at history, don’t ever feel afraid to reach out, because you never know what could happen from just asking just a simple question (I feel like I’m talking to myself lol).

The video was captured in Jackson, Mississippi where Dear Silas is from, and also my home town. He shows clips of Jackson Public Schools, Jackson State’s Sonic Boom band and hometown friends. Dear Silas has already started the year off right, with a great song to play at any function. You can find him on any music and social media platforms as @DearSilas.

Cuba with Wander Roam Travel

Last year I went to Havana and Viñales Cuba as a travel photographer. I couldn’t believe it was really happening, how it happened and when it happened, because I manifested this trip without consciously knowing. I have been eyeing Cuba for the longest, and it happened during my birthday, which was a amazing at that, because I never celebrate my birthday. This is a trip I will never forget, because I learned so much about their culture and how they continue to smile and push through life no matter the circumstances.

I made my way to Cuba with Wander Roam Travel, I was booked to be the travel photographer back in May 2019. These photos have spearheaded that desire I have always had to travel and take photos from all across the world. Wander Roam Travel is a company that is committed to providing meaningful, unique, cultural experiences encouraging networking and a sense of community among its diverse groups of travelers.

Cuban people are pure joy. I don't know any other country in the world where photographing people is as much fun so far. The people are so natural and open that I am drawn to their way of dealing with hardships of daily life in a nation where basic comforts and amenities of the modern world are often unavailable. Of course there's color, music and a intense Caribbean vibe in Cuba, but I'm especially struck by how remarkable, joyous and present Cubans can be. I had expected to find the people of Cuba depressed and down, but found the complete opposite. They carry themselves with an attractive dignity and always makes the most out of what they have to enjoy life.
